In 2014 Injectable Rhinoplasty or Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty has become one of the most popular procedures for correcting and rebalancing nasal irregularities. The nose is the axis of the face upon which your other features hinge and it is often the feature that people like least about their face. With the development of more robust and advanced fillers on the market we are now able to use dermal fillers to shape and contour the nose. Injectable Rhinoplasty is suitable for people with small minor irregularities such as a rasp or hump/dip in their nose bridge or tip - which wouldn't necessarily warrant a surgical operation. It is also very useful for crooked noses, and noses with irregularities from trauma/injuries. It can also be used very effectively to camouflage small humps and bumps.

We begin with a full medical history and digital imaging - manipulating a photo on the screen to see the desired result. We then use a 'saline trial'. This is simulating the filler injection with an identical injection of saline which lasts for 20 minutes only. It allows us to take photos, and for patients to see, feel and touch their nose as it will be after the filler is used. It is in effect a "try before you buy" and it is excellent in educating patients as to their likely outcome.

If this is effective, we then arrange a follow up appointment for the procedure that lasts up to two years with a temporary product, or about seven years with a longer-lasting filler. Injectable Rhinoplasty is performed in our clinic by Dr William Mooney - a fully qualified Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) and Facial Cosmetic Surgeon. Anaesthetic is not required and results are visible immediately. The procedure is relatively pain free, aside from slight stinging at the injection site. Slight bruising can occur and is easily covered with make-up. If patients then decide they don't like the result there is an 'antidote' that can shrink the filler away.
